Snug as a Bug in a Rug

Who doesn't like to be "snug as a bug in a rug" at night in bed?  At our house, it's a nightly ritual.  Asher still struggles occasionally with his pronunciations, so his request usually sounds like "blah, lah, bluh, luh, rug?"  And you can be sure it's a request I am thrilled to accommodate.  Nightly.  And you know, no matter how "rough" a day we've had with him....no matter how exhausting it is to be the parent of a two-year-old with not-your-average-energy-level, he reminds us every day (in many ways) how much he loves us, and how we are his favorite people on earth.  Someday, the grueling task of consistently disciplining our little monkey will pay off in huge returns, but I know that when it finally does, he probably won't want his mommy to tuck him in---"snug as a bug in a rug."  : )

Nowadays

Nowadays....I'm trying harder to fulfill some of my resolutions for this year...one of which is to start a blog.  I mean, isn't that what an English teacher should do?  Write?  But there are lots of good reasons for my blog to make its debut, not the least of which is that I need an outlet for all of my "Funny Asher Stories."  I could write a book if I could find the time...he's got the funniest sense of humor and it affects his entire worldview.   Like, for instance, how he still asks for "nog" even though Christmas was a month ago.  And how he thinks that "Good Job" is a reciprocal thing; if I say, "Good job, Asher," he responds with, "Good job, Mama."  Yeah.
Nowadays, life seems as crazy as it could possibly be, but someone recently told me that they would give anything to go back to the craziness of life when their kids were little.  And the truth is, I can't imagine life without little boy laundry.  It's what I live for.  That, and, "Good job, Mama."
